Bird photography help for beginners?

I would like to start bird photography but I do not have a camera which can change lenses. I have a Nikon P90 (which is my first proper camera) and I am wondering if I can still take good shots without being able to change the lenses on my camera?

Also I would like to have some hints and tips on how to get a great shot from just my window / balcony? I am a beginner at this so I don’t know what the do’s and dont’s there are to bird watching + bird photography and would love some help on starting off I know that you must have a lot of patients and I am willing to sit for a good few hours

Feed the birds.
Set up a bird table and get some feeders and make sure you feed the birds at the same time every day. After just a few weeks they’ll be waiting for YOU. Let them see and hear the camera and they’ll soon get used to it.
You have a good lens on that camera – 624mm is a really good telephoto – but the closer the birds come, the better your pictures will be.
Now is the time to start feeding the birds, in a few weeks there’ll be nests full of hungry young to feed and if you’re already known as a source of food they’ll be coming every few minutes to stock up.
Robins are particularly cheeky and I get them coming in to my room to look for food

I have an Olympus E-510 with a 70-300mm lens and get pictures like these by using food…
