Do you think them thar Texas bird watchers will find the ivory-billed woodpecker?
Or is this just a wild goose chase?
Wren they flew in and flocked to the woods with an eagle-eye to a bird that may not exist, it caused quite a stir as many thought they were rhea just on a lark.
The locals don’t give a hoot. But if it’s found, the Feds will finch, swallow their pride and swoop in to close the forest to the public.
This will cause a great uproar to the local population, most of whom are unskilled and can only find work at a local canary. Because of their poor background, the forest is the only place they can tern to get way from their stressful lives.
But toucan play that game as it’d be robin these people access to their own lands. Some have organised a protest in the strongest, non-violent method they could think.
They formed a nudist group to attract attention and strut around naked as a jay-bird, dancing the flamingo with signs detailing their plight to attract attention. However, the local newspaper hasn’t run much on this story as they claim this nudist group has been over exposed in the media.
As this has all been sparked by a bird, one nudist lady brought her two budgies to join in the protest. When she exposed them in their cage nestled between a breast of feathers, leaves and twigs, she proudly claimed to possess the largest parakeets in captivity.
Sympathetic nature lovers from all over the country have raised funds by hawking their jewellery to help the cause. Naturally, the funds have gone to buy the bare-necessities to sustain the protest.
The leaders of the group have vowed not to chicken out and will stand fast in their resolve. The spokesman of the group said he’d be proud as a peacock if their efforts are successful.
But, until they have something to crow about, most people just think they’re cuckoo.
